Delete your account and data
Applies to Byre for iOS and Android · Last updated 2 September 2026
You can delete your Byre account and everything attached to it at any time. You do not need to contact us first, and you do not need an active subscription.
Option 1 — from inside the app (fastest)
- Open Byre and tap the profile icon in the top‑right of the Home screen.
- Go to Settings → Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.
Option 2 — by email
If you cannot reach the app — for example you have lost the device — email abhay050@gmail.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject “Byre account deletion request”.
We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and complete the deletion within 30 days, confirming by email when it is done. We ask for nothing beyond the email address on the account.
What gets deleted
| Data | What happens | Timeframe |
|---|---|---|
| Account record and email address | Permanently deleted | Immediately |
| Synced settings, schedules and block history | Permanently deleted | Immediately |
| Diagnostic identifiers linked to your account | Permanently deleted | Within 30 days |
| Copies in encrypted backups | Aged out of rotation | Within 90 days |
| Purchase and tax records | Retained in de‑identified form because financial law requires it | Up to 7 years |
| Data stored only on your phone | Removed when you uninstall Byre | On uninstall |
This cannot be undone. Deleting your account permanently removes your synced setup. If you want to keep it, export or note it down before you delete.
Deleting the app without deleting your account
Uninstalling Byre removes all on‑device data — your usage statistics, blocked‑app selections and schedules. If you never created an account, uninstalling is all there is to do: we hold nothing about you. On iOS you may also want to revoke Screen Time access, and on Android revoke Usage Access and the Accessibility permission, in your system settings.
Your subscription is separate
Deleting your Byre account does not cancel a paid subscription — billing is handled by Apple or Google, not by us. Cancel it yourself first:
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Byre → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Byre → Cancel.
